Passport: The Newsletter of Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations is edited by Andrew L. Johns of Brigham Young University (BYU) and the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies. Passport publication is also coordinated by Amy Sayward, the Executive Director of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR), through the SHAFR Business Office located at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU).

Passport publishes reviews, historiographical essays, articles on pedagogical issues relating to the teaching of U.S. foreign relations, and research notes, and it explores other issues of interest to SHAFR members. Volumes are produced in January, April and September and hosted by Middle Tennessee State University's institutional repository.

Unsolicited submissions to Passport are welcome. All submissions should be sent to the editor via email in either a Word or WordPerfect format. The deadlines for time-sensitive material (e.g. advertisements, announcements) are January 15 for the April issue, June 1 for the September issue, and October 1 for the January issue.

SCOPE: Passport is published three times per year (April, September, January), by the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations and is distributed to all members of the Society. Passport content is also open access, freely available to the public and accessible online.

Submissions should be sent to the attention of the editor and are acceptable in all formats, although electronic copy by email to passport@shafr.org is preferred. Submissions should follow the guidelines articulated in the Chicago Manual of Style. Manuscripts accepted for publication will be edited to conform to Passport style, space limitations, and other requirements. The author is responsible for accuracy and for obtaining all permissions necessary for publication. Manuscripts will not be returned.
