dc.description.abstract This study provided an opportunity to examine the effect of subjective well-being on presenteeism in the framework of the satisfaction-performance relationship. The main research question is what effect does subjective well-being have on an employee's level of presenteeism? The main hypothesis states that when controlling for age, sex, race/ethnicity, education level and industry, the employee's level of subjective well-being is inversely related to his/her presenteeism. en_US
dc.description.abstract In this study, presenteeism is the dependent variable. Subjective well-being, measured by indicators of mental/emotional well-being and physical well-being and life satisfaction are the independent variables. Demographic variables thought to influence presenteeism are also included as independent variables in the analysis. Those are age, sex, race/ethnicity, education level, and industry type. en_US
dc.description.abstract The retrospective, cross-sectional, quantitative study design allows the data to be collected related to each major variable. Results from the univariate analysis of regression will address the hypothesis that the higher the level of subjective well-being among employees, the fewer problems they will experience with presenteeism. en_US
dc.description.abstract The purpose of this investigation was to add to the body of literature examining predictors of presenteeism. The results of the study demonstrate that subjective well-being, as measured by indicators of life satisfaction, physical and mental/emotional well-being, and indicators of depression, has a significant effect on presenteeism. en_US
