Traditional methods of teaching History in High School lead to disengaged
students. Reacting to the Past is a university-level pedagogy that has improved retention
rates among college students. The RTTP pedagogy could be successful in the high school
classroom as well. In order to test that theory, I have devised my own RTTP game which
is tailored for high school students. So that I may assess the effects of the game, I have
tested it with a group of volunteers and analyzed the data. Based on the results of my
data, I will revisit the game I have written and make improvements based on the feedback
I received from volunteers.
