dc.description.abstract This creative project is a guidebook of fictional creatures inspired by those I invented in my childhood after watching nature documentaries and science fiction films. Each organism has been updated and reimagined through the lens of speculative biology, a process using known scientific information to predict or theorize how living things might continue to evolve either on Earth or other planets. The book also contains interactive components through augmented reality, allowing readers to use a smart phone to scan the pages and view animations of the animals within, bringing them to life. This project is the culmination of my interests in art and science and my studies in animation, creating something I would’ve enjoyed as a child but also as an adult. en_US
